Insurance coverage is based on your individual plan. For example, some plans may have strict guidelines about the timing of screening exams, or have very strict medical necessity guidelines. It is best to check with your insurance company if you are unsure about whether they will cover the test.
For certain tests, especially MRI and CT scans, most insurance companies will require a pre-authorization. In these cases, it is the responsibility of your referring doctor to obtain the necessary authorization from your insurance company prior to the exam, and contact us with the information. Unfortunately, we cannot perform the exam without the proper authorizations in place prior to the exam date.
We participate with many Plans and networks, and as a courtesy we will always directly file your insurance claim. However, if you are unsure whether Sutter Buttes Imaging / Sutter Buttes MRI participates in your Plan, you should refer to your list of participating providers given to you by your insurance company, or call them for verification.
If your exam was done at our Imaging Center, you will receive one bill for the exam, representing our reading and technical fees. If your exam was performed at Rideout Memorial Hospital, you will receive two separate bills for the exam, one from us (for the reading), and a separate bill from the hospital for their fees.
Yes, we will bill both your primary and secondary insurances as long as we have the correct billing information on file.
Our radiologists will ensure a prompt interpretation of your exam, with results communicated to your doctor as fast as necessary to ensure proper care and/or treatment. Our goal is to issue a written report to your doctor within 24 hours. Your doctor will then contact you with the results.
You should contact your doctor for test results. Once your exam has been dictated, transcribed and given to your referring physician, you may request a copy of your report from our facility. You will need to sign a medical release when placing your request.
Yes, but please allow us 24 hours to complete your request. We can provide you with a copy of the final radiologist report and a CD that has your images on it. If you have any questions please contact our Medical Records Department at: (530) 645-5328
